Teacher charged with indecent exposure

SILVER SPRING, Md., April 27 (UPI) — A Maryland schoolteacher was charged with indecent exposure for allegedly exposing himself to students on a school bus while he was driving a convertible.

The Washington Post reported Friday that Charles R. Bouma, 43, of Beltsville, Md., was driving alongside a school bus when he allegedly exposed himself to students from the Academy of the Holy Cross, a private girls school in Kensington, Md.

“He was driving alongside the bus and proceeded to pull his pants down and expose himself to the students,” Montgomery County police spokeswoman Melanie Hadley told the Post. “He then followed the bus and drove around each side of the bus, causing a commotion and continuing to expose himself and engage in a personal sexual activity.”

Bouma, who teaches math at a middle school, was taken into police custody on Tuesday. He was reportedly charged with indecent exposure in a neighboring county in 2005.
